The submission period for applications for the first round of funding has closed. A second round will open at a later date.
All applications for the first round of funding received by the deadline will be under assessment in the winter of 2026. It is anticipated that the Board will begin reaching out to successful applicants in the spring of 2026 and funding agreements will be made with each community.
It’s important to note that not every application will receive funding. The MDSSC Board will review each funding submission based on the eligibility criteria set out in the application form.
The first call for submissions opened on July 7, 2025 and provides funding in two categories:
- Up to $25,000 for communities to establish their own Survivor Committees or
- Anywhere between $100,000 and $250,000 (per year for up to four years, or as one-time funding only depending on each pillar) for programs and activities deemed by existing Survivor Committees and communities where funds are needed most.
